Denver Dynamos
The Denver Dynamos, based in Denver, Colorado, played two seasons, 1974 and 1975, in North America's top pro soccer league. Home games were played at Mile High Stadium, though one listing places some 1975 games at Jefferson County Stadium.
Ken Bracewell was the player-coach in 1974. The team went 5-15 and drew about 4,800 fans a game. At one point it went 523 minutes without a goal, a league record until Philadelphia went 524 minutes and 18 seconds in 1978. John Young coached in 1975, and the team improved to 9-13, third in the Central Division, with attendance down to about 3,650. Hugh Fisher earned an All-Star mention.
The Dynamos never made the playoffs. In November 1975 a group of Minnesota investors led by Jack Crocker bought the club and moved it to Minnesota. It became the Minnesota Kicks.
