Down Home Apparel makes shirts for the places a town still talks about after they're gone. Right now that means closed drive-in theaters and defunct basketball and soccer teams, with more of small-town America on the way.
We start with a real place or a real team, dig up what we can about it, and write down what we find. Then we put the name back on a shirt, with a design in the style of its time. When you land on a team's or theater's page, the history is right there, because the story is half the shirt.
We're a small, independent shop. We aren't affiliated with any team, league, theater or business, past or present. These are tributes to places and teams that are mostly gone, made by people who wish they weren't.
Our shirts and sweatshirts are printed to order in the USA on name-brand garments, from lightweight tees to heavyweight fleece. You can see every design we make, A to Z.
Frequently asked questions
What does shipping cost?
Standard shipping within the USA is free on orders of $55 or more, which is about two shirts. Below that it's a flat $4.99. We don't offer express shipping at this time. See our shipping policy for international rates.
How fast will it get here?
Our apparel is printed when you order it, so nothing sits in a warehouse. Most orders in the continental USA arrive in 5 to 10 business days. International orders usually take 10 to 30 business days, and that varies widely by country.
I placed an order but never got an email. What now?
We send a confirmation for every order and a second email with tracking when it ships. Email providers often send these to spam or junk, so please check there first. If you still can't find it, email support@downhomeapparel.com and we'll confirm your order.
What brands do you print on?
Name brands, mainly Gildan and Bella+Canvas. Our apparel is printed and shipped from within the USA. Each product page says which garment you're getting, and our size charts list the measurements.
What's the difference between the Heavyweight Tee and the Premium Tee?
The Heavyweight Tee is a Gildan 5000, a thick, sturdy shirt. The Premium Tee is a Bella+Canvas 3001, which is lighter and softer. If you don't like a light shirt, go with the Heavyweight.
Will it look exactly like the picture?
Very close, but not exactly. Because we don't print until you order, our photos are digital mockups of the finished shirt. Colors can vary a little between screens and fabric. If something looks wrong when it arrives, tell us and we'll help.
How do extended sizes print?
The same way as other sizes. Heavyweight Tees and hoodies go up to 5XL, Premium Tees and crewnecks up to 3XL, and long sleeves up to 2XL, though not every size comes in every color. The printed area doesn't grow with the shirt, so a design on a 5XL is about the same size as on an XL.
How do I know it will fit?
Check the size charts, which are measured with the garment laid flat. If it doesn't fit, you can exchange it or return it, and you only pay return shipping. Our return policy has the details.
I made a mistake on my order. What now?
Contact us as soon as you can. Orders usually go to print within hours, so the window to change one is short, but we'll do what we can. If it has already gone to print, you can send it back through our normal return or exchange process.
What if I decide I don't want it?
Contact us within 10 days of receiving your order, and you can return it for a refund. You only pay return shipping. Orders placed from November 1 through December 31 can be returned or exchanged through February 28. Our return policy has the details.
My order arrived damaged or wrong.
Mistakes happen. Contact us with a photo of the problem and we'll send a replacement at no charge.
There are small marks on my shirt.
Marks left by the printing process usually disappear after the first wash. If they don't, let us know and we'll sort it out.
