The Memphis Storm, based in Memphis, Tennessee, played indoor soccer in the American Indoor Soccer Association from 1986 to 1989 at the Mid-South Coliseum. They went 24-18 in their first season.

In 1987-88 the Storm went 16-8, finished first and were declared champions when no postseason was held. New owners renamed the club in 1989.
