Hartford Downtowners

The Hartford Downtowners, based in Hartford, Connecticut, played a single season in the Eastern Basketball Association, 1976-77. They were Hartford's second team in the league, following the Hartford Capitols, who had folded in 1974. Bulkeley High School is listed as a home court.

The Downtowners finished 5-19, fifth in a seven-team league. Bill Klucas is listed as coach, and Jacky Dorsey played for the team before going on to a big-league career. The Scranton Apollos won the title that year. The team did not return for a second season, and sources do not give a clear reason.
