Shore Boardwalkers
The Shore Boardwalkers, based in Asbury Park, New Jersey, are usually listed as the Asbury Park Boardwalkers. They played two seasons, 1966-67 and 1967-68, in the Eastern Professional Basketball League, which later became the Eastern Basketball Association. Home games were at Asbury Park Convention Hall on the Jersey shore.
The first season went badly. The Boardwalkers finished 2-26, fifth in the East Division, and used three coaches. Dennis Cuff led the team with 811 points and received the league's John F. Kennedy Sportsmanship Award. Records credit the club with about 11 wins across both seasons, and it missed the playoffs each year.
After 1967-68 the franchise moved to Springfield, Massachusetts, and became the Springfield Hall of Famers.
