OKC Cavalry

The OKC Cavalry, based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, played in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) from 1990 to 1997. Sources describe the home court as the Myriad arena downtown, now the Cox Convention Center.

The team won the 1996-97 CBA title. It went 29-27 in the regular season, then beat the Florida Beachdogs four games to two in the finals. Elmer Bennett was the playoff MVP.

That was the end. Both finalists folded after the 1997 finals, and the league itself stopped soon after. A different team called the Oklahoma Cavalry was started in 2007 and later moved to Lawton, but it is a separate franchise.
